1: Cape Cross Lodge, Cape Cross (Fri, 2 June)

Day Itinerary

Today, your guide will pick you up
from your hotel by our representatives
and you will drive to Cape Cross; one of the largest settlement of seals in the
world; Cape Cross Seal Reserve.

Cape Cross

The small headland of Cape Cross
lies on western Namibia’s Skeleton Coast, roughly 60 kilometres north of
Henties  Bay. The historic area was
landed on by the Portuguese in 1486, and they erected a stone cross here in honor of the  Portuguese King, however,
this cross was replaced by the German settlers in the 1800’s. Cape Cross best
known for  its extraordinary breeding
colony of Cape fur seals and has been made a reserve. With the abundance of
fish  swimming in the cold Benguela
current, the seals have plenty to snack on, and they also enjoy lying and
playing out  in the sun. From a
200-metre-long walkway, watch the seals at play and learn about them through
the area’s  information points.

Situated on the Skeleton Coast in Namibia, Cape Cross
Lodge overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and presents a unique  and serene stop for travelers. Nearby, rocky
outcrops provide a perfect playground for a large colony of Cape Fur  Seals. There is a museum situated within the
lodge. 

The lodge features a mix of Cape
Dutch and West Coast fishing village architecture and offers a selection of
eighteen  sea view standard suites, two
sea view semi-suites, and a single self-catering unit. During their stay,
guests can enjoy  a la carte dining at
the on-site restaurant.

Today after breakfast, you will
visit the Seal Colony. Renowned as one of the largest settlements of these
animals in  the world, the colony of Cape
fur seals at Cape Cross marks the spot where the first European explorer set
foot on  the coast of Namibia in 1486.
Originally marked by a cross erected in honor of the king of Portugal by
explorer  Diego Cao, the spot just north
of Henties Bay is now home to a thriving colony of more than 200 000 seals.

3: Palmwag Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia, Palmwag (Sun, 4 June)

Today after breakfast, you will drive to
Damaraland, driving through the Skeleton Coast National Park.  You will be accommodated at Palmwag Lodge or
similar accommodation

Palmwag

Palmwag is a nature reserve

idyllically located along a palm-lined tributary of the Uniab River, halfway
between  Swakopmund and Etosha, providing
an ideal base from which to see the sights of the Kunene region or embark
on  one of the many local hiking trails.
Water is scarce in this area, so the river’s presence often lures elephants
closer to  the camps. The reserve is
notable for its unusual species of palm tree, the hyphaene petersiana, and for
being home  to the largest population of
southwestern black rhinos in Africa. Animal lovers can also get a peek at
leopard, lion,  cheetah, mountain zebra,
Angolan giraffe, springbok, kudu, and African bush elephant.

spend the morning at leisure. In the afternoon, you will then go for your
afternoon  scenic drive, where you will
explore the amazing Palmwag concession. Refreshments and light snacks included.

5: Okaukuejo Resort, Etosha South (Tue, 6 June)

Today after breakfast, you will drive to Etosha National
Park.

Etosha
South

Located just south of the boundary
of Etosha National Park in northwestern Namibia, Etosha South makes up the  southern region of this wild paradise. The
area is comprised of a collection of world class private game reserves. The 

national park can be accessed via
the southern entrance at Andersson’s Gate. Visitors can catch a glimpse of
a  variety of wildlife including: lion,
giraffe, elephant, white and black rhino, and a multitude of plains game.
Popular  activities include: enjoying an
open 4x4 safari with an expert guide, half day or full day drives with the
option of a  picnic lunch with wine on
the full day game drive.

Overnight:
Okaukuejo Resort 

Okaukuejo Resort is ideally
located 17 km from the southern entrance of the park. Famous for its flood-lit
waterhole,  where visitors can observe at
close quarters a spectacle of wildlife congregating and interacting. The
comfortable  guest chalets have views
overlooking the waterhole. The bush chalets feature double rooms or family
chalets. Other  facilities include a
restaurant, bar, shop, swimming pool, kiosk and camping facilities.
