Day 1 Airport-Dakar

Arrival at international airport Blaise Diagne. After the formalities, transfer to Dakar. Overnight stay at the hotel. 

 

Day 2 Dakar-Pink lake- Lompoul

Breakfast and departure for the Pink Lake or Lake Retba, which owes its fame to its pink hue depending on the intensity of the sun's rays. The Pink Lake is a stretch of pink water whose salinity is 380 g/l and also it was the arrival point of the famous Rallye Paris – Dakar. The pink color of the lake changes

according to the density of sun rays. Ride aboard a 4x4 vehicle on the sand dunes surrounding the lake and those who want can bath in the lake floating then we have lunch at your charge in a restaurant near the lake. In the afternoon, continuation towards the desert of Lompoul. Arrival at the village, transfer to our lodge in 4*4 all-terrain. After the installation we will take advantage of a camel ride on the dunes to attend the sunset on the big dune. Dinner and night


Day 3: Lompoul-Barbarie

Breakfast and departure for the north of the country to the Ocean & Savannah Lodge. It is located in front of the Langue de Barbarie, a part of land that stretches off the continent from Mauritania to the south of Saint-Louis of Senegal. Visit the onion gardens scattered on the dunes that are on the track that leads to the village of Sowène. Lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon we embark on a pirogue for a discovery of the National Park of the Langue de Barbarie, the third ornithological reserve of Senegal. Located between the river and the ocean, this natural area is home to many species of birds such as flamingos, pelicans, cormorants, herons, gulls and seagulls. In season, the park welcomes marine turtles that come to lay eggs on the beaches. Back to our lodge. Dinner and night


Day 4: Barbarie-City tour in carriage-Saint-Louis-Barbarie

Breakfast and departure toward Saint-Louis to enjoy this beautiful former capital of the country. Discover the island of Saint-Louis aboard a horse-drawn carriage. We discover the town hall and the courthouse (which delivered its first judgement in 1875), the hospital, a beautiful yellow ochre building dating from 1827, and the Ameth Fall high school for young ladies, housed in the walls of a former hospital since 1927. The fishermen village, interesting in the morning and at sunset, and where you can see the huge boats crossing the bar. Muslim cemetery in the Guet Ndar district. The graves are poles covered with fishing nets. The Ndar Toute market located on the Langue de Barbarie. To finish the walk, we will stop at the emblematic Faidherbe bridge, 512 m long, a splendid architectural work made between 1894 and 1897. Lunch not included in a restaurant on the island. Back to our lodge. Dinner and overnight stay.


Day 5: Barbarie-Thiès -Palmarin

Breakfast and departure toward Palmarin. On the way, we will pass by Thiès, where we can visit the basketry market and The Senegalese Manufactures of Decorative Arts (MSAD) established in Thiès since 1966 have become a unique heritage in Africa and have many prestigious wall tapestries of varying sizes, entirely handmade in limited series. Lunch not included in a restaurant and head to Palmarin. Arrival and Installation at the Ecolodge. Dinner and overnight. 


Day 6: Palmarin-Saloum-Salt wells-Ndangane-Palmarin  

Breakfast then we will embark in a motorized pirogue to explore the river of the Saloum delta. The Sine Saloum region owes its name to the two rivers that cross it, and the best way to know it is probably to board a motorboat to cross its waters. Along the water, you will discover the mangrove and its fauna. Lunch not included in a restaurant at Ndangane. Back to Palmarin and in the afternoon, we will visit the salt wells where local people recollect the salt and sell it to the Gambia. Back to our lodge. Dinner and overnight.


Day 7: Dakar – Goree island-Departure

Breakfast. Departure for a short city tour of Dakar, the most western point of the African continent. Visit the

Senegalese capital, a mix of contemporary architecture, colonial homes and modern buildings. Transfer to the harbor for a 20- minute crossing to discover the island of Goree. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, this island was one of the main strongholds of the slave trade in the 17th century. Walk through the streets and visit of the House of Slaves, walk on the cliff of the island called the Castel where you can see the monument of the Memorial of Goree. Lunch in a restaurant. Back to Dakar and at the indicated time, transfer to the airport.
